Best Watch I've ever had July 17, 2009 Reiner Bautista 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
this is quite possibly the best watch i've ever owned. i'm big into watches and i have a few from casio. i have the pathfinder which i like but don't really need that many features for day to day. i have a fancy movado watch which is good for special occasions, but i'm an active person so it's not good for all the time. i'm currently deployed in afghanistan, and i haven't taken this watch off once, it does the job, it looks good, and i feel like it's basically indestrucatable. if you want a rugged watch that'll take a beating even if you're in the middle of a sandstorm while it's raining, then i would recomment this for you.
Great Watch During My Deployment!! November 6, 2009 DubZer0 (Somewhere, Middle East) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This watch is awesome! Its a Casio G Shock so you know its tough when it comes to getting banged around. Its also a "Mudman" model. The matte black color of the watch is also really slick looking as well. Its a great size not too bulky. I'm in the Infantry, and deployed right now, so this watch so far has seem its fair share of getting beat up. Highly reccommended! The World Time feature is pretty cool, as well as all the various stopwatches, timers, alarms, etc. I love this watch!
Great watch!! August 25, 2009 J. B. Muller 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It's so light weight I forget I have it on. That is until I hit it against something. Well built and dependable that's what I like about it.
Awesome. April 23, 2010 B. MALMQUIST 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great watch. I read the reviews, and they scared me a bit with the face visibility issues, went with it anyway. I wasn't disappointed.
Yes, it is hard to read the face if you're not looking at it from the right angle. And yes, it is hard to read at night and in low-light conditions. I'm over it. I'd probably be hitting the light button on any other digital watch in the same conditions. It's easily readable at other times, with normal light.
The appearance, resilience of the design, and functions are awesome. I've only had mine for a couple weeks and so, haven't had any real hard-use situations yet. It's a G-Shock though, and I have confidence that it'll perform as required.
The watch feels awesome. It's lightweight and comfortable, and feels like it breathes. If the pictures don't show it, it's got holes spaced the entire length of the band. I believe this contributes to the flow, as well as being able to get it around almost any size wrist.
For a reasonably large watch, it's also extremely light. Best wearing watch I've owned. It's got little rubber feet on the back of the watch, supposedly to let water/mud through. Can't say I've noticed them doing much of anything special. Some people have complained that these little rubber nubs irritate them. They bugged me a little at first, yes, but they've either softened or I've gotten used to them. Barely notice they're there now.
The buttons...oh, the buttons. They're solid. Yeah, you definitely have to try to push the buttons. Haven't tried them with gloves on yet, but I think I could make them work.
If you're thinking about it, I'd say it's worth it. I had some doubts, but now I love it. None of the "negative traits" that I've read about have been a big deal or even that noticeable. If you're not a big nitpicker on having everything "perfect" this watch is good to go.
Very Cool Watch April 21, 2010 NE Tracker (MA) I ordered this watch, listed as a -CR for North America, but received a -DR for Asia markets in a G-Shock cardboard retail box, but not really any problem. Same watch anyways. Very cool looking watch. Well designed, very light in weight (as compared to my Luminox F-117). In very dim light, others have noted, yes, you need to use the backlighting. This has not bothered me at all. Under the not so bright fluorescents over my office cube, I can see the time just fine. Outside is ok also. The buttons are stiff as noted, but again, not an issue. It's a Mudman, so it's expected! The band is comfortable, and no issues with any band loop slippage. Some have noted the raised pieces on the watch back; I don't even notice those are there when wearing this. If you don't need Atomic & Solar, then this is a great watch! I did have another G-Shock, I have had for years, which is Solar Atomic. Gave that one to my teenager.
